Introduction

Everyone knows that there are laws in place that guide business practices, and we know that we must follow them to promote business well-being, produce high quality service, and avoid liabilities. That we should be compliant with guiding state and federal law is a big-picture goal. How we become and stay compliant requires the ability to locate and  read the applicable laws, apply them to actionable procedures, and maintain these procedures as the laws change. As a regulatory compliance professional, I have the ability to see the bigger picture and the small steps required to get there.

I am currently working with a small kombucha brewery and a UK compliance software company as a Regulatory Compliance Expert Consultant, but I am always looking for new opportunities to help companies assess, develop and maintain their compliance strategies. For the last several years, I have gained experience that informs my current skills in regulatory compliance. I have met (or beat) deadlines for several major projects, learned to balance working on multiple large projects at a time, compiled research and knowledge to disperse amongst my coworkers, managed working independently and as a member of a team, as well as learning to lead teams to accomplish set goals. I have learned to identify issues and develop responses that effectively address the needs of all parties involved. For a peek at my resumé, please click here.

As a brief background, I put myself through Reed College in Portland, OR, where I received a B.A. in Philosophy after writing a thesis about the meaning of co-referential terms in belief statements. (I’m currently a Fregean, if you were curious.) I am living in Chicago, scouting for good coffee shops, doing my small part to build the indie pop music scene, and finding new ways to bake delicious desserts.

I am interested in for a regulatory compliance or project management work where I can put my research, training, and communication skills to good use. If that sounds like what you are looking for, I would love to meet with you and discuss how I can benefit your organization.
